You are a dumbass. A defense round in the femur is a death sentence without immediate medical attention and even that might not save you. I think there is like a really big vein or artery or something in there , you might bleed out or something like crazy like that.

The perverse part of it all: Everytime something like this happens, Herr Pelosi and the Left get a tingle in their private parts.....not joking one bit.

He wasn't given a death sentence.

Stop saying that stupid shite every time a piece of filth commits suicide by cop.

Shooting someone center-sternum at 8 to 10 ft is not a death sentence?

How fast do you think someone can close a 17 foot gap and swing a bat?
Not fast enough, as Gaige Grosskreutz found out.

Why does it keep happening?

Because the media, a President (Obama), and parents have poisoned communities that cops are racists and evil. This has been going on for decades and couple that with the broken families in many of the urban communities and nobody teaches them to respect the police and listen to their orders and things will be fine.

A human adult can close a 21 foot gap in three seconds, average. That leaves an officer with three seconds to make a decision that may save their life, or end it. So now not only does an officer have to assess the threat, pull, aim, but they have to aim for a "disabling" shot? One not even assured to be disabling?

Your solution is dumb and you should feel bad for posting it.

Obviously he should have dropped the bat. The dude was high on something. Sad case. But was a death sentence the necessary outcome when he refused to cooperate?

Why are people so desperate to keep shitty people like this around? Wound the bat guy so when he gets healthy, maybe next time he will actually kill someone. Tackle Jacob Blake, so next time he can rape more women and maybe murder somebody. Wound Rayshard Brooks so when he gets healthy maybe he can continue beating his children and eventually kill one.
All of these people made multiple bad decisions to harm and threaten others. The cop made the choice to stop these people and defend themselves and others around them. The cop did not make the wrong decision here, blame the shitty people for there shitty choices in life.

No, it isn't.

"Death sentence" is a legal term.

"Just desserts" is a more appropriate term.....

Cops need to expand their training. In some situations they don't need to aim for the core and shoot to kill. Sometimes shooting to immobilize is sufficient.

Best I could tell from the video, the bat was lowered and not in a threatening position. The cop appeared to have the upper hand as the perp looked to be staggered. Lethal force in this situation was completely unnecessary.

No.

That will lead to cops needlessly dying.

You have the benefit of hindsight from the safety of your keyboard.

Real life doesn't work that way.

Ridiculous. We need to stop pretending that criminals who are resisting arrest and not complying with lawful orders have a right to do so.
