Media's brief window to salvage crediblity
Even a lib journo sees it
"Many of our supposedly smart media elites are dinosaurs who are completely unaware of the asteroid headed right to them. Instead, they are doing their part in an all-hands-on-deck effort to continue pushing out Democratic talking points that got them into the mess. This week, that meant they regurgitated the Democratic claim that the Obama administration’s spying and leaking was “normal” and that to be concerned about it is nothing more than a distraction."
Even a lib journo sees it

You understand the whole russia gate thing was totally proven to be untrue.
The crap the media and the dems had been pushing for months and totally went all in on was proven to be a lie. A few liberals were brave enough to say this was moronic.
But in the end a significant amount of people still believe there was some truth to the story because if there is that much smoke, there has to be a fire, correct?
Look, this is going to be the same as russia gate. Its going to demonstrate the media is part of the democratic party. And it is further going to prove the question about a tree falling in a forest and no one hears it fall does it make a noise?
Well here there is going to be if another democrat commits a crime but the media doesn't report it, does it make a noise?

I saw for maybe 5 minutes a hesitation, a pause, where some in the media almost asked the real penetrating question - were they wrong?

In the hierarchy of examples of "self-serving reasoning," it's almost equal to when Behar who was all in to the Left's insistence that the FBI hadn't electronically "surveilled" Trump, and kept pounding it on her show, when it was later shown unequivocally and brought to her attention that they had indeed used listening devices against him, sensing she had trapped herself, her comeback was:
"Well, then they were actually 'helping' him."
Have to admit, it was a quick recovery and one of the more self-serving rationales ever recorded for posterity.
