As a black man holding the highest seat in the country and arguably the world, he could’ve took actions to mend the brokenness of the African American community. Yet he focused on all of the wrong things and some could argue he made it worse. Yea great, it was a monumental milestone for the greater USA that a black person was elected as president but that in and of itself has no substance to what could have been achieved. What a wasted opportunity.

He's not technically a black man so there's that.

Jim Crowe says he is, and I'm pretty sure he was the #1 pick in the race draft.

That is the first thing he could have corrected right there.

He squandered many.
A filibuster-proof Congress . . . . he only used it to pass obamacare. That's it. And even obamacare needed to be preserved with EO's.

Sadly, true. So much potential, at such a critical time. He thinks He (His Ideas) came to power too early...but it was His lies and corrupt manipulation of Government Power that did Him (potential for healing/unity) in.

Live and learn.

He did EXACTLY what he was CHOSEN to do. He nearly transformed our nation into a progressive utopia. He nearly conditioned US citizens to be welcoming for a one world, global government.

He was chosen for a reason, and we were damn near stupid enough to let him attain their goal.

Herman Cain or Ben Carson would have improved black lives had they been President. Kinda like Trump is doing.

All Hussein did was give away free phones n shite.

He governed as a liberal elite, and like liberals he just used the black community. He never cared or addressed their problems. I couldn’t believe it, but we all watched it for 8 years. Trump has done more for them, by creating more opportunities just by boosting jobs and economy. Obama would have been happy to put more on welfare with the way he governed...

Black communities are better off thsn than ever before. Is this about some strange perceived racial divide or socioeconomic status?

Half-black. He was more interested in enriching himself and destroying America.

This is all no surprise. As a community organizer, he riled folks up. As a senator, he did nothing and helped maintain the gridlock.

So his background is in riling folks up and accomplishing nothing. It is what he did. It is what he does.

If a patriotic businessman is elected, what would he do?

If that is your opinion, okay. If it is a fact, then we would like to see some proof of the fact. Thanks.

It was never his intention to unite. His ilk cannot achieve their goals unless segments of the population are broken and feel segregated in one form or another.

If anything he, along with eric holder, did all they could to make the matter worse. Much worse. It had to have been by design. No one could stumble and fumble as much as obama did unless it was part of a strategy.

I take issue with your statement. I think President Obama did a terrific job a beginning the process of dismantling the Democrat Party!

Eta: I for one am grateful.

If he had tried to do that many in his camp would have labeled him an Uncle Tom. Remember this was their turn.

Realistically, what could he have done "to mend the brokenness" of the AA community?
