Those are awful. I don't care if they were done for free. The artists need to re-do them.
I am no Obama fan, but the man was the President of the United States, and, as such, he deserves a decent portrait.
That one just plain sucks.

It is interesting they choose Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald. They are up and coming painters, but they aren't the most prominent black artists working at the moment. I mean, Kara Walker and Kerry James Marshall would have been more interesting choices. Although Wiley's work is pretty cool in general.

On second thought - I'm actually okay with the Michelle portrait after seeing the entire thing. They're both fine - the vines around Barack are a little much but it's not as awful as it looked on the screenshot.

No shite went to the DMV when I moved to Ohio back in 2013, and they had that Jesus/Obama picture up on the wall behind the counter. Needless to say the office I went to was in a crappy part of town. I literally was about to bust out laughing.
