If he picked Lieberman, he would have done far worse than he did because the base would have told him to frick off.

I’ve had a lot patience for McCain. Not just for the military thing, but because there was a time when he really seemed to be a principled guy.
He’s pissed always his legacy, IMHO. Now, he just comes across as a petty, posturing prima donna.
