That's not true- look how carefully the media reported on the Wikileaks revelations. Even though the allegations were true, sourced, and validated; the mere fact that we couldn't pinpoint how/ who sent docs to Wikileaks was reason enough to practically ignore the story.

The original reporting from CNN claims this. It's the centerpiece of that story.

Oh sorry, realize I said "Putin" when I meant Obama. I get authoritarian strongmen confused.

Also, of course that failure John McCain would have his gimp fingerprints all over this.

Their cover and justification for reporting the fake news appears to be shaky at best. Completely wrong at worst.

Either way, if you watch CNN after everything that has come to light about that network in the past 6 months, you deserve to be misinformed.

It was their justification for reporting the unsubstantiated rumors.

Please. This is the same network that deliberately leaked debate questions to Clinton and played all of Trump's primaries rallies unedited. You think this is going to get them canned? They'll just blame BuzzFeed.

Let's say a briefing was given to Bill Clinton that there was a rumor he'd fathered a biracial kid wth a hooker. CNN good to report on that? There was a briefing on it.

They didn't really report much about the substance of the rumors, though.

And, the justification for the story is legit (assuming they at least had solid info that the briefing happened).

Right. They want the spillover of the story and to give it legitimacy.

If the CIA briefed Clinton on a report from a private intelligence shop run by a former SIS guy saying that a foreign state had compromising info on him that included him potentially fathering a biracial kid?

Absolutely.
