This is next level butthurt. "Hey, crazy people! Here's how you track the president! Tee hee."
quote:

IF YOU OWN A MOBILE PHONE, its every move is logged and tracked by dozens of companies. No one is beyond the reach of this constant digital surveillance. Not even the president of the United States.

The Times Privacy Project obtained a dataset with more than 50 billion location pings from the phones of more than 12 million people in this country. It was a random sample from 2016 and 2017, but it took only minutes — with assistance from publicly available information — for us to deanonymize location data and track the whereabouts of President Trump.

It even has an interactive map in which they follow the tracking they performed on who they claim was the President.

They put this in the "opinion" section, I guess for some level of deniability. Holy shite, bitchy vicious little children.

Dude

It's a brilliant article and one that should make everyone uncomfortable

It has very little to do with Trump

So, the Times is abusing information obtained by telcoms for the purposes of harassing POTUS?

Yeah, this is going to end well.

It’s pretty clear why that are doing it. And it’s nefarious.

Maybe we should track the reporters for the NYT?

Wonder if they would be okay with that?

I think the point of the article is how easy and scary it is track anyone because they show senior officials, security staff, and the multiple people at the pentagon

Obama spied on the media and they were cool with it.

We all know exactly why. Their first approach and impeachment isn't working, so they're moving on to more drastic measures with their crazy base. It'll only get worse.

Or it’s possible they brought up the president (with a number of other government officials) because he is supposed to be the most well guarded person in the country yet he was easily tracked. If he can be tracked, then so can anybody.

I did.

I understand you are using logic and reason to come to your conclusion, and for that, you are to be commended.

What you are not to be commended for is the inability to understand Progressives, and why this article was published.

Think like a sociopath, then you will understand why many here are concerned.

Fair enough, the theme is that anonymity isn't possible for anyone and Washington is idle on it while data is harvested and sold off to who knows for who knows what. They use Trump and a bunch of other guarded individuals to show that, but noting that the data provided is aged at this point (probably to counter ideas that they're putting Trump in danger).

It's compelling and very well done with a lot of graphics. It'll probably win awards.

...which you didn’t read because they explicitly stated it was a secret service agent.
