Just the way it should be.
A person's sexual preferences are not to be heralded - or scorned - publicly, UNLESS the person himself makes a big deal of it.
note = 'himself' should not be read as excluding female persuasions. I am old school when it comes to the English Language.
When the gender of a person is immaterial to the subject matter of the topic, then the 'male' designation shall be used. Only use the female designation if the person is known to be female, or the topic is already understood to be reserved for females only.
Just the way it should be.

Donald Trump doesn’t care about gay people. This Trump homophobic thing is completely made up by the left. Most people don’t care what happens between consenting adults in the bedroom.
