Nearly fossilized gray and white-haired male politicians will need to be swapped out with younger folks. We can take heart in the fact that despite trends of liberal governments in Europe, they do turn over to conservative occasionally. But it is now a race against time as these turn to blue demographics decide they like the handouts which will set in stone politics for the future. Nobody ever decides to give back entitlements.

Having competition in the labor market isn't "artificial". It's economics and is good for everyone especially the consumer. "Artificial" are tariffs which increase the cost of input factors like labor or materials.

Wait. Are you contending that the larger companies are hiring illegals and paying them under the table in order to out compete smaller companies? Call the Feds. I'm not sure why anyone thinks it's OK for me to pay higher prices at the store because I need to subsidize someone else's lifestyle.
