re: Nungesser Out, Schroeder In for Louisiana Governor

No one has bothered to mention this yet, but Schroder in his first term in the House voted in support of SB672(2008) which would have given the legislature a raise from $16,800 to $70,000 per year and increased the monthly expense allowance from $500 to $1500 for Representatives and $3000 for Senators (all for a part-time job). Later the bill was amended from a fixed dollar increase to one that was one-third that of the US Congress with increases that would be automatically applied and not require a vote to be enacted.
Only after severe public backlash, did Jindal veto the bill.

Pathetic piece of shite.

Spill the beans on the Nungesser rumors. Creepy bastard gave my wife his personal cell number at an event awhile back and we laughed our asses off about it.
It was related to the Vitter stuff, the local stuff and involved pegging.
FFS.

We don’t deserve someone as great as Schroeder. Sucks though imo he’s gonna get eaten alive bc he’s not a politician and is such a genuinely good dude. Once Kennedy was out he knew he was gonna be in.
That’s his biggest fault, in this context anyway. He’s not slick. He’s not a bullshitter.
He tells it like it is but will try to be as fair and respectful as possible.

Cool, I’ve been noted by an internet rando that doesn’t know what the word lie means. Got it.
As for being a pathetic piece of shite, I mean, you are the one melting over me not wanting to vote for your boy. You sound like a leftist.
You must be a Celticprog alter.
Why don’t you go start your day as usual, jerking off to pics of Biden.

Shawn Wilson - good guy … but a DEM. Never been in politics.
I still think there’s a chance Billy jumps into the race at the last minute.

Landry checks all my boxes
Landry is a conservative Republican. That’s a good start.
Now what is his stance on our current tax system? What are his plans for education?
Thousands are leaving the state each year, does he have plans to broaden the economy?
What about coastal wetlands? Roads and bridges?
It’s early and he has time to tell us, but just bring a conservative Republican isn’t enough.

That’s the thing, while Landry’s been in politics for quite a while now (2003??), I don’t recall him ever chiming in and advocating/supporting any specific plans or reforms for state government in spending, budget structure, civil service, taxation or education. I’m not sure he even stepped into the legacy lawsuit against the oil industry debate despite always seemingly to run for office as “the” pro-industry candidate.
Hopefully he has to at least present some ideas and platform on these types of state-specific issues before he’s elected Governor.

Schroeder was Bobby’s play toy, as he did pretty much whatever Jindal told him to.
As such, he lost my vote going forward.
Perturbed by your accusation, I did some looking.
Based on some brief research (I'm not a fanboy or a paid staffer so not wasting too much time):
Looking at the 2013-2015 regular sessions, bills vetoed by Jindal, Schroder had voted against the bill (thus seemingly in line with Jindal) only 7 out of 32 times, or 22%.
This does not consider the context of the vote/veto; for example perhaps it was a garbage bill that needed to be voted against and vetoed.
But obviously it doesn't reflect him being "Bobby’s play toy, as he did pretty much whatever Jindal told him to" as you state. Quite the opposite actually. He voted for Bills that Jindal was against much more often than otherwise.

Jindal's budget criticized by lawmakers for sweeping away state's dedicated funds
Mar 13, 2013
"You want me to put it in English? Its money laundering," Rep. John Schroder, R-Covington, said outside the hearing.
Jindal garners budget support
November 21, 2015
Rep. John Schroder, R-Covington, refused to support the deficit elimination plan. “We’re just going to smoke-and-mirrors our way through this, and then we’re going to have to deal with this in the very near future,” Schroder said. “This clearly isn’t fixing anything.”
Lawmakers say Jindal trying to oust college leader
Mar. 25, 2013
Six Republican state lawmakers said Monday that Gov. Bobby Jindal is trying to pressure the Board of Regents to fire the state's top higher education leader. Commissioner of Higher Education Jim Purcell has been at odds with the GOP governor over the depth of budget cuts to public colleges and what that slashing means to higher education. Reps. Brett Geymann, Cameron Henry, Lance Harris, Jim Morris, Rogers Pope and John Schroder issued a statement Monday defending Purcell. The lawmakers, who have criticized the governor's budgeting tactics, condemned what they call the Jindal administration's attempt "to politically influence" the Regents to oust Purcell.
Both being conservative republicans, it's obviously logical that they would be on the same side on many issues and policies and I'm sure they were. And maybe I'm missing something. But the facts appear to show that Schroder did not vote in line with Jindal, was often an open critic of Jindal, and your accusation is demonstrably false.
So will you have the courage and decency to admit you were wrong?

Lundy is the best candidate in the race, and he is not affiliated with any party. He is a true candidate for the people and is not bought out by any outside sources, he is using most of his own money. The man has nothing to lose while all the other candidates in the race are just plain ole’ politicians trying to get a promotion.

Irrelevant, as he would then vote with him.

I’m not.
FWIW, I voted for Schroeder.
However, talk is cheap.
I gave the caveat that Jindal may have (probably did) threatened Schroeder via exclusionary tactics. That may explain the voting record.
Perhaps, as governor, he will follow through on the rhetoric. I would hope so. As noted, I will vote for him if need be. Also as noted, he isn’t my first choice.
You vote for whomever you wish.
History has informed my opinion.
Peace.

Dude really needs to start getting his name out around the state, outside of SWLA.
