Yep. Time for that taxpayer funding to go.
Again...any conservative that gives an interview (print, radio, TV) should have someone else there strictly to record everything for rebuttal in the future.

I extend it much further to include that their employees should not be permitted to vote.
that's taking it too far
but they either need to
a) have equal representation from conservative view points
b) make it on their own with zero public mony
no compromises on this - we control the Congress & White House
write a budget that eliminates public funding for NPR

I disagree that it is too far.
I believe every single government employee from the president down to the janitor at the NPR building should be barred from voting for their entire time of employment including 6 months after they are no longer employed by the government.
Their partiality should be removed as much as possible.
Those who rely on tax money for their survival should not be involved in the vote for those who make those decisions.

Since that would disenfrachise several million soldiers, please realize that liberals will win every election.
Yes it would be balancee out by teachers, but not to the extent that you could make it back.

They are the only individuals in government permitted to vote because they should be involved in the decision for the individual who chooses whether they must kill or die for their country.
Much more severe circumstances.
That is then a lifelong earned status.

I lose my right to vote because I currently work in a public hospital.
It is something I would gladly accept.

The concept I am fine with. It is the partiality of its current iteration I oppose.

Officers shouldn't be allowed to vote. Enlisted people should.

The theory that state funded anything can remain impartial is severely lacking in evidence. The best they can do is be equally impartial, which isn't the same thing.
We don't need impartiality. That's not the issue. We need to stop funding government messaging.

So you would remove voting from every parent with a kid in a public school since they are getting a taxpayer provided service?
No voting for farmers who get farm aid?
No voting for veterans who use the veterans administration?
No voting for people who attend football games at taxpayers funded stadiums?
We all live off the teat.

I'm not digging the lost vote if you work in government thing.
Think that shite through man. It may knee jerk sound good but that also places government as the decider of what counts.
Does working at Boeing count? Lockheed?
Does working in a construction firm that sometimes builds government schools count?
I could go on.
No thanks.

Aubie Spr96 agrees with Scruffy on this one. He goes on to say that he really enjoys NPR and it's programming. NPR is one of the few "news" organizations that still delivers actual news.
