It’s almost as if he’s forgotten that it’s congress that passes the laws that lead to any racial disparities. He’s basically calling himself out for doing a shitty job for his constituents.

It's not fake. The Senate has largely been a very congenial group because it is seen as the elite. It's the House where all of the fireworks fly and people from both sides genuinely dislike each other.
