Modern gladiators fighting for the emperor's amusement. Ya don't see that kind of stuff in the modern era, no doubt a lot of world leaders want to watch. I'm not even into ufc, and I'm gonna be watching every second of it.

You don't see it in the modern era because gladiators fought to the death...I'm not into any sports let alone people beating and breaking each other but it's just for entertainment purposes/fun for America's 250th for those who do enjoy it.

No. Death was an occasional byproduct of gladiator v gladiator combat, not the norm.
Death was the end result against the condemned where you would have prisoners/convicts fight against trained gladiators, eachother, or animals.
