I don't think Russia can, and Russia values taking Ukraine much more than aiding Iran. Russia has to be so pissed this is popping off in the ME.

Plus it risks US intervention, which would likely be on both fronts. Russia doesn't want to have to deal with that b/c they' take a huge L in both arenas and then would only have nukes to fall back on.

Please stop your belief that the Russians would do anything but sit on the sidelines. If this gets out of hand, we'll end it and we'll do it with the help of Saudi Arabia who will get a promise from both us and Israel to pump a shite ton of money into MbS modernization plans including development of Neom on the Red Sea coast

If reports are to be believed. Russia's S 400 missile defense system just took a big hit in that the manufacturing facility just had a big fire.

I get that one, but there's a direct connection (allowing the attack to impose the Israelis justification to take out Gaza once and for all), but the US permitting it to get Russia twisted makes it a level 3 CT

If anything, Russia doesn’t want a conflict at all between Iran/Israel, because they rely on Iran for drones and other weapons now. If Iran gets dragged into a war, there goes some of Russia’s military equipment for their war.

I don’t think any superpower wants to get dragged into a war between Israel-Iran, and I don’t think any superpower would be willing to support their ally in a way in that conflict, to where they’re attacking another superpower. It just ain’t worth it, especially for the Russians and Chinese, who would be the main worry I guess. I think they use Iran just because they’re opportunists. That’s it. They’re not serious allies.

Last week's attack by Iran was just flexing.
This week's retaliation by Israel was just a bigger flex.
Iran's attack did basically nothing and was largely neutralized in the air. Israel's attack proved with zero doubt that they can hit anything, anywhere in Iran, and the Artesh and IRGC can do literally nothing about it.

The only thing they could do is provide them with a functioning nuke, which I doubt they'd do. Otherwise, Russia currently lacks the bandwidth to do much of anything with them being bogged-down in Ukraine.
