If his son is truly autistic he shouldn't be there. All the ABA therapy in the world can't help in situations like this. It's cruel for a parent to intentionally put their autistic child in sensory overload. Based on his facial features, expressions, and body movement, he may have an intellectual disability.

I was trying to feel the room last night after the convention ended and anything if substance was drown out by this. As a father and a brother in law to a sibling with special needs, this is a terrible look. Special needs kids are hard to handle and if he’s doing this in public it’s much worse in private.
My ex wife texted me this morning about this exact thing. Apparently women are very mad about it and she found out in a group text of women (most of with are liberals).

I don’t believe children should be on stage in a political campaign until they’re of age, period.
They want may want to help.
They might be props for their narcissistic parent being used for political advantage.
Either way, they don’t belong on a stage because they don't understand the consequences of doing so in a hyper partisan period of American politics and should be left out of any media coverage whatsoever unless they actively choose to enter the political realm as adults.
