Anyone can scroll up and see you addressed nothing I stated because I’m right. That is why you chose to respond the way you did.

Then you definitely don't understand the situation. LSP has been doing a hell of a job, and it's amazing what happens when you do the opposite of "Defund the Police."

Landry gives us a safe Nola and a new football coach.

What a Governor.

2023 Nola Crime stats

quote:

A data analyst in New Orleans says murders were down across the city in 2023 compared to recent years.

According to Jeff Asher, a data analyst, a total of 193 people were killed in New Orleans in 2023, which is a drop from 266 people killed in 2022.

quote:

"It's good news couched within bad news," said Asher. "We had 200 plus murders from 2020 to 2022, so 193 is an improvement."

The years 2020 through 2022 were the nation's highest for murder rates. In 2022, there were 266 killings in New Orleans.

Asher noted that the big reason crime was down in 2023 was due to there being only five murders in December.

"That is one of the lowest counts in murders since Katrina, really," Asher said.

The reduction comes as Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick was hired by New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell.

Jeff Landry didn't take office until January of 2024, FWIW.

Crime was already going down in Nola prior to Landry/LSP, just as it was almost everywhere else in the US after the post-Covid spike. The turn happened some time in 2023 in most places.

Did they police mid city, New Orleans East?

I’m sure that helped downtown.

Crime is still down. That is undeniable.

When the LSP is focusing on FQ & CBD, the East and the rest of the city can be focused on by the NOPD. It's just been better allocation of resources and actually having a presence.

The two major reasons crime is down is crime is now under reported roughly 25% in almost all major metro areas vs 1990’s and government assistance has almost doubled in inner cities since 1990’s.
Reporting? They just don't arrest as many people, and leftist DA's are letting them go when they do.

So yeah, arrests are down, convictions' are down. Nothing else is.

You mean the statement reflected by reality and the data confirming that reality? Yes.

It's not really about arrests. It's about victims.

This is why the more serious crimes like rape and murder are important, because it's very hard to cover these up (from the victim perspective).

And those defendants/accused are pretty much never just "let go" when they're arrested. They may get bond, but it's going to be a high one.

When did I do this?

That data is always heavily revised relatively quickly.

Then why aren't you addressing OP and telling him he's wrong and Landry is cooking the books?

Can we say Trump should take credit? He's in office. He gets credit/blame for other good/bad things out of his control. I say this is due to 47.
