WASHINGTON – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested nearly 50,000 people in July, the highest single monthly arrest total during the second Trump administration, according to new figures.

The spike in immigration arrests shows that the administration has continued to advance its mass deportations agenda despite a shift in approach earlier this year from high-profile operations in large American cities that sparked a public outcry to arrests that have garnered less attention but have nonetheless been disruptive

The July arrest tally of 49,571 marks a 15% jump from 43,021 arrests a month earlier and a 70% increase from 29,241 in February, in the aftermath of the Trump administration’s enforcement surge in Minnesota, according to government data that was provided by ICE to the Deportation Data Project based at U.C. Berkeley and UCLA and analyzed by The Associated Press.

So a governor with no enforcement background wasn’t qualified to run a federal department responsible for enforcing immigration laws and execute mass deportations? Hmm

Didn’t the big beautiful bill just go into effect to give massive amounts of aid in this?

I want to believe it butttt they have refused to release the data since Noem has been replaced.

How many of these were people that were in custody for a year before deportation ie noem’s arrests?

How many are turnaways at the border? You know what Homan did for years under Obama to pump numbers?

Either way we asked for mass deportations and still aren’t getting them because they’re afraid of the media and rinos.
Still best in our lifetime but that is sad

Do what?? No we want to see hundreds of thousands gone per month at minimum.
Biden let in over 20 million.

At that rate it’s 600k. Not enough

And you haven't heard a peep in the media bc Mullen hasn't been cosplaying as LEO and spouting off at the mouth non-stop.

Noem goes down as one of the absolute worst hires that Trump made in both terms.

Amazing what can happen when you don't have a dept head who prioritizes glam cosplay paparazzi shots over actual work.

Things were better without the forced confrontations and headlines.

It helps tremendously that the majority of the legal challenges are out of the way now. It is hard to compare the first year or so to now because everything then was challenged making it a "One step forward, two or three or four steps back." type deal.

"Someday a real rain will come and wash all this scum off the streets".

Really? We're excited that we're currently on a pace to deport around 5% or fewer in Trump's term?

"Bring the rain".

We have tons of people who aren't "specifically qualified" for the roles they are in. Trump being one but he is a far better leader than the previous several presidents.

Maybe Noem showed Trump her jugs or something b/c why else would he have even considered her?

You mean putting a professional like Homan on charge makes a difference?
