I agree. It's theft.

The eviction moratorium only applies to federally assisted properties so as long as the little old lady isn't running Section 8 housing she can still evict her deadbeat tenants.

If this is true I take back my criticism.

As an investor I see a lot of people like yourself over leverage themselves too early. Don't blame the president for not having a nestegg.

This is what most of us want but it’s not going to happen unfortunately. I wish they were beaten publicly and prosecuted.

I would also like to see proof of the claim this is only for section 8 housing. I would at least accept that, because you dig your own grave when you get in bed with government housing.

I dont even know how it would be for anything other than Federally backed housing considering its a Federal order.

Where most of the landlords should be looking to is that its most states and localities just straight up closing the courts for evictions that are what is blocking evictions. Nothing Trump can or will do.

Is this true? I can’t find anything to confirm this. Please share your source. Thanks.

Another assumption from my comment. We will all survive this, and those who can shift and able to do so as we always have. Now that i think of it, maybe Trump is just evolving back to where he once was? Handouts for everyone but the middle class?

You ok with the former scenario, for a grand 3 months of landlord bliss?

Me personally, I worked with my tenants applied last month and security deposit to a few missed payments. Split some pain with another. It’s better to work with a good tenant than to take the hit trying to boot them and end up with a worse tenant.
I’m not against all corporate and social welfare but I think both have been overblown. The Govt is just printing money. I also don’t like bail outs to publicly traded companies even though I own share is many that benefited.
Way too many people and companies were broke too quickly. Even had it been a minor disruption they weren’t prepared.

For those still wondering about what the federal ban covers (fannie mae, freddie mac, VA, FHA backed housing) you can read the two links below. Just bc the federal ban doesnt apply doesnt mean there's not a state ban.

Landlords may be angry (understandably so), but they aren’t stupid. They know this is temporary. Additionally, they know that if Biden is elected, this will probably become permanent.

The democrats, if they win in November, will try to force the sale of these apartment buildings to the government. The will use the back rent as the stick; if the owner sells it he’ll recoup that money, if not he’s screwed. Then the government will offer free housing as a fundamental right. Socialism, one piece at a time.

Awful policy. How can you force me, if I’m a landlord, to foot the bills for someone else?

Clown world in full circus mode.

I have one of our rent homes sold but can’t get the deadbeat renters out because of this!

Terrible mandate as my renters won’t pay rent and have been getting unemployment + $600 a week since that began!

Very frustrating

Absolutely but you’ll be evicted as soon as evictions are allowed if you don’t pay rent

There’s going to be massive evictions when it’s allowed

We’ve got 2-3 in process
