First, TYFYS. Recon is tough duty. My FiL did Stingray duty in Vietnam, and the stories are harrowing.

That being said, condolences for your buddies. Your story rather-well demonstrates that sometimes the conditioning is effective (you) and sometimes it is not (your buddies).

Taking a life is a terrible thing. If I had to I believe I will stand before God one day and have to justify my act, if that can be done.

Those people gave Rittenhouse no choice, it was either him or them. They made their bed and some of them are sleeping permanently

Exactly. When a leftists calls someone a “White supremacist” it’s often meant as a complement, just “phrased” vaguely.
Here is a brief article which explains the fact/opinion distinction. It addresses California law, but the concept is pretty universal.

So, basically, you are arguing the merits of a defamation case and its resultant settlement value, but you have zero interest in attempting to understand defamation law.

I have no idea why this still surprises me.

Well Lin Wood also sought $190 million from Elon Musk and a jury gave his client exactly $0. Maybe the numbers Wood puts out in press releases and complaints he drafts don’t really have a bearing on what ultimately happens in the case

Dammit, Boosie, if a plaintiff lawyer claims that a papercut case is worth $250 million ... you KNOW the case is ACTUALLY worth $250 million.

Nah. That's an argument you made up in your head all by yourself.

Not as big of mark on the one who is killed. Being put in a position of you or them has a way of making your thoughts on your decision later in life more than tolerable.
