The fact is from 1960 on back through human history this was not uncommon.

Some of what he's saying is generally true, in regard to what guys are looking for, what girls are looking for - I get his general point, and I'm being generous and assuming he's making one. But, on the other hand, it doesn't come off like he's making a general point and using sarcasm to make the point. It doesn't sound like he's making a general point at all, but instead expressing some concrete principles.
The way he expresses it sounds very creepy, as if he's of the mind to go somewhere and shop for a "verified pure" 16 year old for an arranged marriage or something like that.

A girl is not nearly mentally developed enough at 16 to take on the role of motherhood and being a wife. Just because it happened in the past doesn't mean it was OK.
I disagree with you. I think it is both culturally and morally wrong to burden a person of that age with what comes with being a wife and mother.
