Sad but a lot of these people probably voted for the politicians who enacted these gun laws. Maybe when enough people lose their livelihoods, they’ll stop voting against their own interests.

Fox News

The Remington gun factory nestled in New York’s Mohawk Valley is ready to shutter its doors and move to Georgia after more than 200 years in the Empire State.

"Two hundred and eight years of history. Gone, gone," Ilion, New York, Mayor John P. Stephens told the New York Times. "Ilion is Remington. Remington is Ilion."

Remington is the nation’s oldest gun manufacturer and told union officials late last year that company chiefs at RemArms, the current version of Remington Arms, made the decision to end its New York manufacturing come March. The remaining operations located in Ilion will move to Georgia, where company leaders say the firearms industry is supported and welcomed.

Residents of the New York village, which is located roughly 230 miles northwest of New York City, are bracing for the manufacturer to officially move, which some say will take part of the town’s identity with it.

New Yorks homicide rate, both overall and by firearm, is 4-5 times less than most red states. This saves well over 300 lives per year.

So there’s that.

Is it really the onerous gun laws, or just New York's taxes and general business environment?

Well. If the 300 lost jobs go to Georgia, that’s 300 lees potential murder victims.

I don’t know how you factor in saving 300 lives automatically but you should quit thinking about things as it must hurt quite a bit. As far as the overall rate of death you are being dishonest. Those Red states you mentioned have urban populations that are black and democrats overwhelmingly. Those citizens are the problem not the rest of the state. Those 7% Black men count for 60% of murders and Latinos now make up another 25% in these areas. That leaves 15% for whites, Asians, Mideastern, Black women and everyone else min race or nationality.

Nope. It’s shitty methheads and hillbillies too.

And are you suggesting that the racism and historical economic disengagement of minorities that’s present in most “red states” leads to more crime by those minorities? Weird, that’s also what experts say.

This idiot must have seen the latest greatest Ben Crump explanation of how to get crime numbers down. Since crime is a black culture norm just do away with laws for blacks because it’s racist

Probably both

While New York's gun laws are bullshite, Remington's bread and butter are the Model 700 bolt-action and 870 shotgun, which aren't really targeted by the gun laws. I'm betting that it has more to do with the business environment.
