This country has lost it's mind.

Very tacky to be cheering and such but I do support this. It’s for when a mother’s health is in danger which seems like a justified reason to me.

Summary of counterpoints for those who don't want to read 30+ pages while having their browser freeze up due to DisplacedBuckeye's typical abuse of laughing emojis.
- It's only for medical emergencies.
- It's only in one state.
- Abortion is legal, therefore not wrong.
- There are no objective moral values.

Well, it's likely that the child would have became another Dem/lib, so in that regard it's a good thing.
So, it's a good thing to butcher babies wholesale for profit and body parts on the odds they may end up progressive?
You don't really believe that do you?

I haven't read all the pages here, but this could be a good thing. At least, in the sense that sometimes "things have to get worse before they get better".
This might open the door to a Supreme Court case, that could ultimately be decided by a 6-3 conservative majority after RBG passes.

Don't buy that.
From 1973 both sides of the issue have kept track insofar as they've been able of the reasons given for having abortions. Both sides have been very consistent and show that 4% to 6% of abortions are for the health of the mother.
No distinctions are generally made between true dangers to a mother's health, like an ectopic pregnancy (which of necessity would be an early term abortion), and more vague and less quantifiable dangers dealing with a mother's mental and emotional health.
Clearly, the 4% to 6% may be weighted in favor of concerns not necessarily mortal to mother.

Why are you being logical when you could be gleefully dancing around the Pandora’s box NY just opened?

I'm not a fan of the vagueness, but I'm not going to argue about abortions out of convenience at 38 weeks yet either. The bill says a medical professional has to make the call after 24 weeks, so I guess we'll see.

Good law
Health of the mother comes first
Look for more states to follow

I’m not going to lie, the video of the celebrating this passing is disturbing. These people are deranged.

To be in favor of the killing of viable healthy babies makes you a bad person. Seriously how can one be so freaking stupid to not see how the “health of the mother” will be abused. “It’s up to the doctor”, so it’s up to doctors to make a judgement call?? I don’t melt over any political issue except for this one. Its so messed up how so many can be ok and even celebrate the death of babies. May God have mercy on your soul.

This law is unconstitutionally sexist and transphobic in that it only grants ciswomen this right to the exclusion of all others.
