What if she’s a mother of 3?

The unborn child would have to have something pretty profound complication that may not be survivable.

As a father, if the doctor would have told me that they needed every drop of my blood to make sure my little girl came into this world safely, I would have asked for a bucket and a knife. My wife would have too. That is the responsibility you have as a parent from the moment of conception. It is no longer about you, it is about that kid. From a zygote to an adult.

I guess you're the father who would put the oxygen mask on the infant first too.

But I see where you're going, you'd rather have an orphan dependent on the state rather than just try again to have a baby that you both could bring up to be a productive member of society.

I'm sorry, but I value fully functioning adults over zygotes.

frick that, I want a woman with the will to live, and the courage to try again.

Hence why two involved parents are so important, and a family support structure to help when tragedy strikes.

It would be terrible and tragic, but no more so than any other heroic act that ends in the death of one to save another. I know a guy that is dead because he saved one of his 2 kids from their house burning down. Their mom now takes care of them and their dad is a godamn hero. Same as any mother that sacrifices herself for her child.

Science... doctors...

You have no scientific argument for abortion in a perfectly healthy mother with a healthy baby less than 24 weeks.

We routinely keep babies less than 24 weeks alive and it’s only going to get better. What are you going to say when we get to the point that 99% of 24 week old babies can be kept alive outside of the womb?

You can get as in depth with the science as you want, I have a MD.

I don't like it, but I don't live in New York.

That isn't the point, though.

1/50 is nowhere near normalization.

This isn’t the argument and you don’t understand what a zygote is.

Not science but how could you get the mother to consent to C-section? Or can you induce a 24 week pregnancy?

Not really.

Yes really.

The "or health" category is wide open and it's not exactly some major leap to say an abortion doctor would happily take advantage of that wide lane.

Again, different discussion. Medical ethics has not been touched upon at all in this long thread. If a doctor makes decisions only to maximize profits and that are not in the best interest of the patient—he/she should be punished accordingly. I dont care if its someone who performs abortions or knee replacements.

I don’t know what you are referring to. Some babies are born very premature for various reasons and they are able to survive with serious health problems. No reason to think a baby with no health problems could survive at 24 weeks with current technology

ETA: are you saying instead of abortion why can’t we just take the baby out and keep it alive?

He was responding to people making the point of laying down their life for a child. Which iscomparing a couple of parents with a typical couple who’d look to abortion.

How is this a political issue? How can people fight for the right to kill babies? I can hear and listen to literally any issue that the left can come up with. This saddens me, and I can only hope there is a God above. I pray he looks over these poor souls and judges those who celebrate in their death.

How’s the baby coming out at 24 weeks. If you are talking about a pregnant woman being given another option than carry to term and adopt or abortion? Which is what I assume in this scenario?

The left is cheering from seas to shining sea about this wearing it as a badge of honor. Women on the left are proud of this abomination. The normalization is happening in the minds of the democrat voters.

Let them. frick them for that, but even most of those who think abortion should be legal oppose late-term abortion.
