Why are they such a huge outlier? They constitute 6% of the US population.
Without them the number of deaths fall from 7406 to 4188 since January.
Also, there were 61,000 flulike virus deaths in the US in 2017-18. The flu had only killed approximately 10,000 by February 4, 2020.

Interestingly enough, they also vote for Democrats.

A democrat run city is always going to be a shithole and shithole cities tend to be more prone to disease. Liberals are some pretty nasty people in more ways than one

I’d hate to live in New York, get the virus, be mistreated with HQ/Z-pac/Z+ by NY medical staff all because of OMB.

The four top population-density counties in the US are part of NYC. You can start your analysis there.

New York has an average positive test result per test given of 38%...more than twice the average of almost anywhere else.

The subways still running? Nothing like cramming coughing people like cattle in a poorly ventilated metal tube to "slow the spread".

I think someone here posted within the last few days that they took the subway but walked back because it was crowded.

Hard to imagine how they’re all getting sick.

I was in NYC last summer closing some deals for business and was there for a couple of weeks. This is what I saw:

- old buildings looking like they were ready to fall apart
- Everyone lives tightly togther and on top of eachother. I find it stupid to pay $4k a month for an 8 by 8 1 room apartment and it's ugly on top of it, and dirty.
- garbage all over the city sidewalks. Everywhere.
- it's a walking city and you are always walking by other people all day long, every day no matter the time of the day, maiking it easy to catch germs from those around you.
- The subways are always packed
- there is no space between you and another person
- "Going out" means meeting your friends at the bar because everyone is expensive and there isn't space to go out and do things like you can in most of the country
- street gatherings in the streets being elbow to elbow with hundreds of thousands of other people and simple sneeze will infect hundreds

I don't mind making money out of NYC, but will never live there. Never.

What does that have to do with their population density?

And when you look at where the deaths are coming from for COVID19 in NYC, it's the Queens area. Hence where the poor, unhealthy are living.

We are essentially shutting down our country because of NYC. I hope Trump realizes that and will open things back up at the end of the month.
