you people need to understand for most my life, i'm 64 NYC has been an uninhabitable schit stain of a city in the 70's it was worse than it is now.
in the 80's you got out of midtown and the theater district you'd be robbed, you couldn't go into central park after dark, time square still had hookers
there was a brief revival during the guliani years and the first 8 years of bloomberg but for most of my life NYC has been a festering puss filled carbuncle on the a*s of the world.

"A felon with 34 convictions"..........by a hard core Democratic judge & jury. And, BTW, those 34 convictions were all misdemeanors, lumped together to get that felony. Which legal experts claim is unconstitutional & will be overturned on appeal. "Habitual lying"......as compared to having a fake president for 4 years, covered up by the Democrats & liberal press??? All the legal BS related to Jan. 6th, which Pelosi set up & controlled???

You are correct. It’s sad what our politicians have allowed to occur to our country. My grandparents moved from NorthLa to Chicago in the 1930’s for my grandfather to get a masters at U. Of Chicago. They ultimately missed the country and moved back, but my grandfather always talked glowingly about Chicago, and all the incredible experiences they had while there. If he was still alive I’m sure he would be furious by what they’ve allowed to happen to that once great city.

NYC has been declining at an accelerated rate for the last decade.
I agree that it is already out of reach to reel them back, and the decline will continue. I'm interested to see how the public safety and rescue services hold up under this alt American culture.

Once they get rid of all the whites in NYC, they will solve all their problems.

More like the new SF.
Mamdani is no more Muslim than he is working class.
He is a socialist, though. So I see NYC going the way of SF.

lol at all the Karens in here.
I go to NYC all the time for work and just got back after a week there. I have spent a ton of time there.New York certainly has its issues and it’s a place that is not for everyone in terms of lifestyle. It’s also very expensive and becoming more unaffordable which basically why Mamdani won
But it’s far safer than I would say most American urban areas. It’s not the dystopian nightmare it’s made out to be on here…..far from it.

I live in NYC, and you're right. Most people have no idea except for the headlines they read on social media.
That said, the city is choking itself with regulations and taxes and Mamdani will only add to that.
NYC is a city for the very rich and the poor. The middle class gets screwed here.

yes i know last week you were pretending to be in soho, drinking beer making the scene, looking for grinder hook ups.
no sonny, i'm talking about new york before you were even a brown stain on your mothers mattress. when soho, was just called the lower east side. chelsea pier as it exist now began with its renovation in 1994.
none of the new york that you pretend to like existed until the giuliani revival. you can't even pretend to imagine how bad new york can be.
at least it was affordable during the rent controlled years!

The way you loons are carrying on, you would think that New Yorkers had elected a felon with.34 convictions, a penchant for porn stars, habitual lying, and a generally shitty attitude.
Trump is the funniest, most sincere president we've ever had. He has spent more time talking to the families of fallen soldiers and disaster victims than any president before him. And he does it in private. We hear these stories from the families and victims themselves.
That's hard to do with a "generally shitty attitude."
And for the record, people that sincerely label Trump a 34-time convicted felon are only telling the world that they are retards.

Same thing with Detroit. No going back to its heyday
Americans have free choice. They can exit, and will never go back. Because the things that drew them there, can exit with them
Remember when movies were all Hollywood? NYC about to find out what they will lose

Maybe so, but looking at London doesn’t even make you think NYC could be on the same path?

His administration came as the major crime started falling nationally, and that continued until Covid, basically. And the post-Covid spike is declining precipitously.
The revival has been going on for 30 years or so now outside of that post-Covid spike, basically.

London has a Muslim problem due to their colonial past and the vast number of Pakistani migrants that have been flowing to the UK proper the past 50 years. They have a large Indian population for the same reason, too.
NYC doesn't have nearly the same amount of migration of Muslims into the city

You're a prisoner of the moment caught injecting yourself with constant fear and rage from ragebait online content.
BDB was a legit politician who worked his way up with connections to actually enact policy. This guy is a populist joke of a pol who is already fumbling things before he even takes office.
