New rule from Dept of Education could eliminate college programs

This would finally be something useful from the Dept of Education.
You are free to get a humanities degree, but you better be able to pay for it yourself.

One of the best ideas I heard was to make colleges the cosigner on all student loans.
That would eliminate a lot of this nonsense.

Get the government out of student loan business. Let the universities backstop lenders and treat them like any other unsecured loan. As is, the schools have no skin in the game. And withe DEI BS, I'm not sure an Ivy League education is any better than your local community college when it actually comes to academics. I've often heard the hardest part of Harvard was getting in.

You forgot to mention you can start as an apprentice electrician/HVAC for just over $4k all in (at least in Texas) and 90% of Wharton's students complete it in a single year.

So how do we educate parents that they shouldn't encourage their kids to follow their dreams for Chicano History studies at 75k a year?

It's like red flag laws. But, remove the money from government, you remove the decision. Apply to the local Opelika scholarship bureau for a subsidy to study navel gazing at Bryn Mawr for $72k a year. DENIED. I'm great with that.
