City leaders Tuesday afternoon sent letters to Laurie White, the special prosecutor overseeing the prosecution of Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, asking her to dismiss the charges.

“We respect the service of the grand jury and the responsibility entrusted to it,” Mayor Helena Moreno and city councilmembers JP Morrell, Matthew Willard, Aimee McCarron, Freddie King and Jason Hughes wrote in a joint letter. “At the same time, we believe this is the appropriate moment to bring this matter to a close, and, therefore, we request the charges be dismissed.”

1. Who appointed Laurie White and why?
2. Release the GJ transcripts. Did they go rogue or were they lead there by White in some sort or pre-arranged deal?

This may have sufficed if Moreno et all had an “oh shite” moment and quashed it once it was made public.

At this point, the investigation of this shite show should continue on.

Did cubbies ever organize her march? I know many people are upset that this convicted felon guy can’t make a six figure salary overseeing an unnecessary clerk’s office.

It will. You can’t treat this as a “my bad” situation. It was a serious matter.

I was initially seeing the DA Williams being smart and recusing himself. Now it’s looking more and more like he started this shite show. His office was still trying to be involved.

The state needs to see this through as it’s obvious the city is hiding something.

She didn’t have any idea how bad this could end when the indictment news broke.

She labeled this is “using the court system”.

It’s funny because everyone else immediately has the “uh oh, this isn’t going to end well” reaction.

This needs to play out. New Orleans needs a complete and total overhaul.

The whole state does, but this is as good a place as any to start.

Supreme Court basically said they would quash the subpoenas about the origin of the indictment and they would throw out the indictment if either side request for them to throw out the indictment. Muriill does not want to drop it, rightfully so.

The Orleans crew thought they we going to put the state AG in the OPP for 4th of July weekend over a political battle. I can't believe they thought this would work out for them.

Nothing happened that would not have otherwise happened had that woman not been indicted. Landry is a petty little bitch and has been his entire term.

Does Moreno drop her attempt to get the bond board to raise money for New Orleans if this doesn’t happen?

Why would you think a clerk of court would fund a reentry program?

As if Landry viewed New Orleans favorably before the indictment.

He put the state police there and they have been instrumental.

Yet even I somehow know that a clerk of court doesn’t award grants.

Incredible
Let’s just drop a grand jury indictment
Because just look how unfair it is and just how bad it looks and how special we are etc.

You acted emotional about this as if you had a personal or financial stake.
