re: New Jersey’s electric bills tripled this summer — and could cost Dems the state

This business the democrats having been involved with gerrymandering the federal districts is going to come back to bite them. They will have no R support when national changes are made. Just to be honest and smart every state should have a balance of R and D representation. How is it possible to have a 40% R vote count and 0% R representation unless the districts have been rigged.
The D’s are really hanging out on this little issue. Explain that to a non partisan judge. Hopefully the Supreme Court will review these gerrymandered districts. For every R gerrymandered district there are 10 D districts.
Given the decision marketing of the D’s in charge of these states people aren’t going to be able to afford to live there.

Seems like a small price to pay to literally save the planet, am I right?

I support nuclear but the population is so large in that area in such a small land area I’d agree building a nuclear plant is risky. A meltdown could kill hundreds of thousands if not millions

This has been the answer ever since the 'climate change' bullshite raised its ugly head. But that doesn't provide any slogans for the propaganda press to take advantage of -

Nobody can build a gas pipeline in the NE, or the ones that have in the last decade, it cost twice as much as it should after all the lawsuits and political battles.

What happened to the one in Salem? Is it not online anymore? I worked a 3 year project there back on the mid/late 80’s

The answer is in the article:
quote:
“They took generation off before they brought generation on,” one energy expert told me, pointing to the state’s aggressive shutdown of coal-powered plants under Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy and the closure of the Oyster Creek nuclear power plant in 2018.

This is what they voted for. After listening to the EXPERTS tell them that coal, oil and gas are bad. They fell for it. The ole sow and reap.
It’s coming for all of us in due time.
Energy sold out its customers to the Green New Deal too. There are two coal plants scheduled to go offline in the coming years in Arkansas and be replaced by solar.
Eta- its actually 3 plants offline by 2030.

Exactly. If it takes a tripling of youe energy bills to see the light then you are too far gone. It's not about policy or results. It is about feelings, and no matter how bad it gets, you won't get out of your feelings. Those people are lost and so is NJ.

That’s Oyster Creek.
Apparently Salem-Hope creek is still in operation

I know it goes without saying but make sure and register to vote! And good luck, NC will be paradise in comparison.
I still have to change my driver's license over, I'll register to vote then. NC DMV is a real pain in the arse. We lived in NC before moving to Jersey, the plan was always to move back.

Except they will flee to red states after ruining New Jersey and bring their vote for Democrat habits with them.

I’ve lived in several stares and believe OK has the best system for DL/registration/tags. They are all run by private industry and you can only own/run one so no monopoly.
Its free enterprise and if you have bad customer service you will lose business and can’t afford to stay open. I hardly ever have any wait and really like them. The one I use has such friendly helpers.
Florida was always bad with long waits and disgruntled workers. But with no state income tax I stayed registered there since was military (resident).
Cali tried to get me for $1,800 in penalties saying I wasn’t registered. Took my ID and Florida proof of residency up there and told them to pack sand. Always made sure to keep my FL tags updated.

Ironically its their own leftist policies that are forcing votes to go blue to red. This energy deal is serious. Its going to cost each person lots of money just to live. That might be enough to change votes.
When manufacturing votes goes unchallenged, flipping votes can always be defeated. They’ll just make more.
Florida didn’t turn deep red since 2000 because of a change in demographics, it turned deep red because Florida cleaned up the voting rolls and strengthened voting requirements.

No More Gas Service In New Homes In New York State , all electric . Even as record numbers of people face power shutoff with bills higher than their mortgage.
With Marcellus shale in the state. No large scale fracking and no gas pipeline.
Better to buy the energy from Canada and pay a fortune.

Yep, and when that happened it made me wonder, how many millions of votes are there that should not be in many states?
I think the country is far far more conservative, and has been for decades.

It’s now costing her more than $1,000 a month to keep her modest home running.
And the Dems are going to respond by “now is the time to spend tens of thousands to put solar panels and power storage systems on your home and business.”
Just wait. If it becomes an issue, it’s not if it will be said… but by who.
