Typically these systems have pretty tight regulations and requirements of updating your address.

Yea. They rely on being updated every two years by the Postal Service. Lol

But wouldn't you need to have their voter ID, or driver's license # or last 4 of social.

What I'm getting at is there has to be something that requires the person filling out the ballot to prove that they're the person that the ballot was sent to no?
Yes, of course. In my state, it's basically 100% mail in. They send you the packet several weeks in advance. You fill it out, you put it in the sealed envelope. You can either mail it OR drop it at one of the many lockboxes around the country. You also can track it online.

Perhaps most importantly, they actually look at your signature - it needs to match the one on your DL basically. More than once, I've had mine rejected because it signed in a more formal way that didn't match the scrawl on my DL. This time, I pulled out my DL to make sure I got it right.

The people hyperventilating over this are ridiculous. Mail in is way superior to having to stand in line.

No. “They” don’t. A machine “does.”

The signature verification process in Nevada is automated and relatively opaque in details.

No, that is why they give you multiple days to vote. Get your sorry arse to the polls and vote. The fact is that we are a laughing stock for not being able to count our votes in a timely manner. The longer it takes to count the more suspicion builds.

Mail in voting and early voting are abomination. Voting should be harder in order to prevent as many people as possible from voting.

Sure. "They" is the machine. I'm glad. I don't want to pay a bunch of money for people to do a job that could be automated. I can only report that the time or two I had mine returned, the sigs absolutely did not match.

Having it on Tuesday is dumb to begin with. Mail in is vastly superior. I have zero fear of my vote somehow not being counted properly.

frick that too. One Election Day. Show up or don’t. No mail in voting or early voting. Military and other government agency employees required by the government to be overseas on Election Day may absentee vote. That’s it.

I got one but shredded it and voted in person. I can't even begin to imagine how many counties, cities or states are fricked up.

This is a pretty childish point of view to be honest.

Great. It’s an obvious loophole for putting a finger on the scale. Glad you are happy with it.

In 2020, the SoS of NV said they would be counting mail in ballots that didn't even have the envelope which acts as a timestamp. NV is the fricking wild west of voting fraud.

Superior from a convenience perspective, sure. I doubt anyone would argue that it is not. The problem, of course, is that it does not inspire confidence in the integrity of the election process and shite like that is how countries fall apart.

Now we have hybrid mail-in/in-person voting.

— Then Nationwide mail-in voting.
— Then vote by texting.
— Then vote via social media.
— Then govt/tech analyzes your social/shopping tendencies and just assumes how you will vote.
— Then AI decides it all.

I love the way Washington state does it. I would rather vote by mail than ever stand in line.
