The tariffs will make things worse in the short term. I don’t think anyone who understands it argues against that. The argument for tariffs, one I support, is we will have to incur even more short term economic losses in certain sectors likely proliferating out to the economy as a whole depending on how crazy they get, but it will inarguably lead to a healthier long term outlook for all Americans. Short term thinking and fear has ran our politics for too long. It’s time to understand not everything is about you and how much you can get. We must lay the groundwork for those that come after us, as it was for us.

Look man I agree with you mostly. Maybe not how you’d characterize it. Utilizing our vast economic might, resources, and large population on what you’re calling low level manufacturing will be and is incredibly inefficient when compared to what else that economic might could be put too.
Doesn’t matter. Not having the capacity and being entirely way to reliant on our enemies isn’t only hurting low income workers it’s a massive national security risk. There’s 0% chance America of today could mobilize a war response like they did in WW2 if the situations were reset to equal ibut keeping our current economy.
