I just scanned the indictment and it's more complicated than the OT Hookup Flow Chart™
It's not just straight up gambling. It involves staking (both him being staked and staking others), personal loans, using company funds as expenses for certain debts/repayments, simply not claiming other winnings, and the "employment" for his ladyfriends.

Can see why he was paying for side pieces.

Can't really get too mad at a guy for playing fast and loose with the rules around taxes, poker, and pussy

it's more complicated
At first glance, this looks like a probable, but not inevitable outcome.
Unlike an Avenatti-type who is more show-than-know, Goldstein is a legit bright guy. Just intuition, but I suspect we'll find the legal loose ends more addressed than not, in this case.
Granted, it's a situation where the exposure of the charges themselves screw him. But this might make for a more legally interesting case than one would expect.

Hit him where it hurts...go after his License.

Geez, if you can’t trust a Jewish lawyer to maintain financial integrity, who can you trust?!?

But Hunter and Rev Al never even seen the inside of central booking

Could this make him vulnerable to blackmail (aka the source of the SCOTUS leaks)?

If you're paying for personal female company by writing it off as a business expense (by making them a fake employee), then you're gonna have a bad time.
It was his business. Who determines what makes a “legit” employee?
All kinds of businesses employ weird employees, like spiritual advisors and astrologers. Who is to say these ladies weren’t providing emotional support?

The indictment — which describes Goldstein as an "ultrahigh-stakes poker player" whose games involved "stakes totaling millions, and even ten of millions of dollars"

Yeah, I don't get this either. Overpaying someone for work they do is in the eye of the beholder.
If I own a business, I can hire someone to call me everyday and tell me a joke over the phone, or just give me a wake up call or some other bullshite.
Who is the government to determine what a private business considers a legit employee?

This is somewhat similar to the Trump business records case (especially the part about taxes). When you claim certain payments as expenses, you trigger the taxation regulatory schemes (federal and state).
The first 19 charges are tax-related.
20-22 involve fraud on loan/mortgage applications.
Like Bonds said, if it's a pass through and they were paid out of draws, then it shouldn't be a crime (But it also wouldn't be an expense)
