It's ok. I don't think Trump's goons are monitoring this board yet.

We spend tens of thousands of dollars per pupil every year for a dogshit public education system. Our infrastructure is half a century old in most places.

Too many freebies to foreigners and inefficient domestic programs

We spend more on interest on our debt than Medicare, Medicaid or national defense. I don't think its sustainable.

Nashville's problem is two-fold. Throngs of bachelorette parties and other drunk tourists spending $10 for a domestic beer. Bar owners are printing money, leading to record prices for real estate. Todd Graves paid $75 million for the Margaritaville building ($2,870/sf).

Second, the city doesn't lower the millage to bring in about the same amount of tax revenue, so record property values = record property taxes for the whole area, based on recent comps. Curious to see what happens to the few older, smaller clubs that maintain at least a semblance of authenticity - like Robert's, Layla's and Legend's. Looks like they'll be facing the same issues as Acme.

Todd Graves buys Maragaritaville for $75M

Nah baw, the monitoring of this board started during the Big O years. It was his goons who did it.

Let's see. In the last 40 years I went from $4.35 (9-10K depending on OT) an hour and no insurance at McDonalds in 1986 to 1)165K salary 2025, 2)full insurance, 3)1.7Million in 401K, 4)house 109 acres and equipment worth 1+ Million. Has trickled down pretty good for me.

Defense spending is not the problem people make it out to be. We could spend $0 and we would still be running a deficit. Defense is also the only thing the federal government *should* be spending large money on

We need austerity and to pay down the debt. SNAP requirements need to be paired with requiring people go to urgent care first for issues or they will be denied medical treatment. We can’t afford to float big medical bills for people who don’t take care of themselves and choose the most expensive healthcare options at every turn

The 3rd rail that also needs fixing is social security, impossible to fix our fiscal mess without reforming social security
