How did NASCAR, a veritable gold mine a few years ago, get to the front of the line of wokeness, resulting in a near collapse of the business?
How did this happen?
They wanted worldwide appeal like F1 so they started to pander to New York/Los Angeles types while doing everything they could to distance themselves from southern culture. Not only that, but non of the drivers have personality anymore or have that blue collar mentality that people loved to root for. Rules also killed the sport.

I haven't paid attention to the numbers because I don't care but it can't be doing too well. I can only imagine how much more ot costs to run all of those cars now, and if they're losing ad dollars, those owners can't be too happy.

It's all because of that evil Confederate flag and racism.

It was a smart decision by NASCAR. They didn’t want to lose all eight of their Asian viewers.

Idiots killed their sport by chasing an audience that was never going to come to them. Hopefully, the ridiculous Bubba Smollett situation was the nail in their coffin.

Largest spectator sport in the world i believe. But be ignorant
quote:
The sport has become the No. 1 spectator sport, and 17 of the top 20 most attended sporting events in the United States are NASCAR events. The sport is broadcast in 150 countries, and it is the second-most-watched sport on TV (after the NFL).

add to the fact that the cars are not even close to real production cars.
the (coming) latest versions will be formula/GT cars with a plastic/carbon fiber cookie cutter body, rental engines
Nascar grossly lost their way along time ago, and allowing corporate cheating made it worse
then came the "car of tomorrow" which was a standard chassis with a different body and engine
the competition got boring when no one could set up a car that would outrun the pack. they made it look more like houston traffic at that point

For me, I think it was a combination of things. My brother and I used to attend a couple races per year. We'd go to both Atlanta races and Talledega, and hit one other new track.
Atlanta spring races were always delayed, so we quit going to those. Tickets went over $100 each for basic seats, so we would just go to one race. And then, honestly, we just got bored with it. We had kid and jobs and it was just too difficult to maintain, we just quit going altogether. I haven't been to a Nascar event since 2003 maybe?
We now have Talledega calling scout troops offering weekend packages for like $25 that includes both days of races, camping, and infield access. They are trying to fill seats.

If you’re not racing back to the yellow flag, you’re not racing. NASCAR died on 2/18/2001. DEJr, Gordon and Johnson just kept it on life support for a while.

So why isn’t Seth McFardland, who wrote the clip, cancelled but instead a lefty hero? None of this makes any sense
