Even if it were true (and I don’t believe it is), you just don’t go there as your “defense”.
I’ll stick with Von Miller as our NFL poster child.

I remember this was the justification for the 2 high school DB’s that jacked that official. Said he used racial slurs. I wonder is there a phrase or word that could’ve been used toward Rudolph that would have given him a free pass to swing a weapon.?

Why are we even talking about this? Garrett was banned indefinitely and Rudolph was not killed. There are several other suspensions. It's over except for some back and forth between Garrett/Players Union and the NFL front office. Our BS speculation is just that.

On its face, that’s an illogical defense. Even if true, does it justify hitting someone in the head with a potentially deadly object?
So words justify violence?
It's a perfect defense because it's not meant as a defense (there is no defense) - it's meant to obfuscate the incident, make people focus on this...and then when it is found out he never said the N-word...everyone will relax and say thank god, now we can move on.
Uhm, hey wait a minute? What about the helmet hitting? He didn't say the N-word, it's all cool now!
Nothing is more important than that!

A racial slur in no way justifies doing that but of course it would to the lunatics who cry racism over everything
