So true. The word they use for American cities is "destroyed". They are looking for red states with jobs. They also understand that poor blacks decline the jobs they covet and understand the crime dynamic. So they want no part of the big cities.

I agree with the sentient portion of that philosophically and made it clear right off the bat in the OP. But it's almost like people don't understand the point. They are coming. They are coming because the US has opened the borders. The US government WANTS them to come and has arranged things so they can come and can stay. So the fact that you are correct philosophically is largely irrelevant. Reality trumps philosophy every time.My last trip to San Jose I met five Venezuelans who had crossed the Darian Gap and were walking the entire way. Every one of them is now in Florida. They will all have jobs and make that state redder eventually. Also most that I know personally ARE educated and were middle class Venezuelans in the most economically advanced economy in S American history prior to the Communist Revolution.

Life happens. I Divorced the hauntingly beautiful and long-suffering Mrs. Pimp a couple of years ago. She was a legal Vietnamese immigrant. Now I'm Dating a Venezolana that lives in Costa Rica. She's a college educated chef and her Padre is a well-known band leader and all the kids are singers or dancers in the band,but have since had to leave Venezuela. She has a valid US travel VISA valid through 2025. My Kids are all in or graduated from college. I go back and forth to CR and have met and learned all these compelling stories of what happened to them.

Heck of a story and you are to be commended for your efforts, no matter how it fits in the grand scheme. It's different when it's personal and the 37-year-old that is a good friend, and a very beautiful and intelligent woman, surely spices it up.
The absolute HELL these people go through is not highlighted enough but the details you provide illustrates a lot of the "Core" or "Root" problems that Cackles was supposedly going to address. Those billions we sent to Ukraine would have been better spent addressing these issues here in our hemisphere, (IMHO).
Anyway, I respond here, to you because I bore witness to these types of stories before and just want to suggest you enjoy that good feeling for doing a "good" thing, (arguably), for now. It will probably get more complicated when the pretty young woman wants her auntie and uncle to be spared too.
Happy endings are not in the cards for most of them so, maybe finish your good deed and enjoy that good Samaritan feeling as long as you can w/o intertwining your life with theirs. Distance yourself from their lives going forward or be prepared for much more drama.
Maybe even including the very beautiful 37-year-old. Unless you have other plans for her.
Anyway, enjoyed your story and wish you well.

Thank you. I made a kind gesture and then it snowballed and became an obligation. I'm great at helping others but suck at the whole self-care thing. That's my fatal flaw. I figure it might be enough to distract St Peter about all the really shitty stuff I've done and earn me a fair hearing. But yeah, it's not likely to work out well for me. I know that. Good deeds are rarely reciprocated. But the answer in the future for similar things is NO, and I already date her friend even though she is a really beautiful woman.

You're willingly taking on all the financial responsibility for people you actually know (and thus know they are legitimately trying to escape communist oppression). To me, that's a completely different scenario than fricktards in Chicago paying organizers to actively recruit groups of hundreds to attempt to come north.

Are they looking for some work? I’m about to be moving & have several projects going on. In In Mandeville, if they are in BR area or within an hour from Nortshore, I can help with rides and pay them a decent rate. I’ve got a ton of tedious work that a female or two can do.

Thank you for getting me. You know I'm a loyal friend first, love the underdog, and a devout anti-Communist who opposes illegal immigration. I won't turn my back on a friend. These young guys who are reflexively downvoting me don't understand my history or me calling the Trump Presidency back in March of 2011, or how I have been vocal against illegal immigration (while being exceptionally pro LEGAL immigrant), or any of that.

In October all three will be looking for work. I'm playing it by the book with the courts and need them to have their hearings before they start work. So sure, I've been trying to find stuff for them through friends. Any help would be TREMENDOUSLY appreciated. I'll personally vouch for them. the 19 year old kid is a STAR-conscientious, polite, the smile never leave his face, washes his dishes, makes his bed, my kids love him etc.
