Had I physically smuggled them across the border, I'd be a smuggler. Had I smuggled them and used them for illegal labor, I'd be a trafficker. If I took a call from US immigration after they were legally processed, I'd just legally be offering assistance, so the government doesn't have to house them and feed them. A remittance sent to a foreign country is legal. In this specific case they presented themselves at the border at the correct spot and asked for asylum immediately. If an immigration judge finds their story to not be compelling it is still difficult for them to be deported, because there is really nowhere to deport them to. And eventually, Biden, like Trump before him, will grandfather them in so they can stay, because Venezuela is truly HORRIFIC and an enemy of ours.

Now 13 people will skip over all that, google none of it, and call me names.

I guess if you don’t know the relationship or the prior reciprocity it could appear that way, especially if you are cynical by nature or assume they are here under some kind of pretense. But really, it was just a desire not to let friends become victims. Spinning things can result in things being spun. Funny how that works.

That's all I am getting at. You are correct, I tend to be on the cynical side or at least always check for someone else having an angle/ulterior motive. If I knew genuinely good people who needed help in a situation like this, I would probably do it and I wouldn't give a shite what anyone on here said. I don't know you or your gf, and you would certainly know a hell of a lot more than me about your relationship and her motives.
