Fair enough. Just wanted to make sure we weren’t living completely in liberal la la land.

Mexico WANTS as many of their citizens here so they can send back money to Mexico which is the 2nd biggest economic driver of their Economy. No the wall isn't THE solution it is one of MANY parts of THE solution though.

Simply saying "it won't work" and "It isn't humane!!!!!" isn't enough.

Do you not wonder why Mexico is vehemently against a Wall and the military on our own border? That should tell you all you need to know right there.

Powerman's approach on this board is to make unsupportable declarations and then refuse to acknowledge any refutations while simultaneously making no effort to support his declarations.

Then, to see how many pages he can generate doing so.

It's a thing here.

There is nothing liberal at all about this thread

True conservatives don't scream for big government solutions to problems that are being remedied without those big government solutions.

310,000 illegal aliens
x (-20,000) ($) cost to our systems/welfare/healthcare/schools/courts
----------------------------
$6.2B in ANNUAL costs added in one year

Compound that with the same *super low* illegal immigrant number over 10 years and the 10 year cost of that *super low* rate of illegal immigration is $341B

Now I totally made up the $20k number but I know they aren't cost free and if I had to guess I would say that they are actually more expensive than that (just one year at a public school is $12.5k) Anyway, adding $6.2B per year makes the wall the biggest no-brainer EVER. Seriously, do math.

well, that's still a shite ton of people trying to get into the country illegally. Also, who's to say the number won't go up again. Say that number doubles in 5 years? We might be kicking oursleves..."shuolda built that damn wall!"

Assume those 300,000 illegal immigrants use on average 15,000 dollars worth of public resources each year...from medical to police to entitlements to public school etc. this is probably a conservative estimate.

That's 4.5 billion dollars a year. Wall would pay for itself in less than 10 years if it cut that number in half

Nope.

Unpossible.

I know. We're going to have them sneaking across the border, but we need to stop making is so easy for them and have mechanics in place to send them back when they're caught. Open borders are simply madness.

They have been saying we only have 11 Illegal Immigrants in this country since 1996

Do we really think the number has stayed the same all this time? The 'real' number is closer to 30 million. The majority of which are from Mexico or Central America. It has to stop.

Let's not forget that they come here and reproduce like fricking rabbits and their offspring will go to our schools and get on welfare and get sick in our hospitals and get arrested and go to our jails. That 300K turns into about a million in a generation. But of course democrats see that as a million votes, not a million mouths to feed. Everyone with a brain knows that's the only thing they actually give a frick about.
