I changed jobs a month ago, so this is news to me.

My very conservative company that brought us back to work May 1, and had us traveling to sites immediately after that... the same company where no masks were required in the building.

Changed their travel policy to the following:
Every employee must rent their own car. My friend is traveling now and they rented 6 cars.

Employees are not allowed to eat together, have a beer, or congregate outside of the office at all. In other words, the days of having a beer with co-workers after a long day are done.

No eating in restaurants at all. All food must be picked up or delivered. Eat in your car, office, or hotel room.

And if your travel partners are all cool you can ignore those idiotic rules save for the car rental.

Does this apply to your work spouse?

I stayed in a 210 room Marriott this week with seven cars in the parking lot. I certainly hope this schitt ends after the election. There’s no need to continue this ruse.

fricking looney.

Society is very sick. This goes deeper than covid. There’s a psychological affliction running rampant through us all.

Where are you ? We played travel ball all through GA this summer and are still continuing, and the hotels have been full. The absence of the continental breakfasts is about the only way you’d know something was going on.

It’s not. Unless your former employer is a branch of the military where they have more control over your life. Until my employer starts paying me for 24 hours per day at my current rate then they have no way to tell me who I can and can’t socialize with on my own time.

Certainly isn't enforceable, right. Employers cannot control what their employees do outside of work hours. Even on a overnight trip.

LOL, these are not legal and cannot be enforced. Company rules cannot violate the state laws and Constitutional law.

If you are in a right to work state, you can be fired of course. I can verify in TX though, their RTW is weak and a company would quickly settle with you to make the lawsuit go away.

Didn’t your company get the memo? The Covid can’t get you when you are eating.

There's always that one coworker who can't wait to pounce on noncompliance and rat people out to HR.

They’re writing policies for things they have no control over?

How can they control that?

My company won't allow any travel at all. If I absolutely needed to travel, it would first go through my director for approval, then to a senior VP for approval, then the Covid committee for approval, then legal would have to sign off on it.

It's the damn attorneys killing business.

Yeah. That’s why you make sure everyone breaks the same rules together.
