It's real simple.
Howard Stern wanted to make money, so he got famous.
Howard Stern wants to still make money, so he doesn't want to upset the applecart.

Haven't read the article yet, but something came up on here about Stern a month or so ago. His much younger wife, Beth, has basically emasculated him. She loves the Manhattan social scene. She's basically ruined him.

There was a time when the show with Jackie and Billy was laugh out loud funny. That may have been the best of stern outside of a handful of artie’s shows. JMO

He has a small penis and hemorrhoids. But he's still funny at times. He is fascinated with Lesbians so he's still got that. Plus he's never been a favorite of the Religious Right so he's got that also. Plus Trump sucked his small wiener.

Also he has said that the purpose of the civil rights movement was about black guys giving white girls the BBC.

I dont even watch his show i just think this is weird to be mad over.

I'm not mad, just making an observation I found interesting (and apparently others did as well). Another thing I find interesting is that instead of discussing the merits I've presented (ie: his change in stance, presentation, etc), you've instead decided to make it about an imaginary impetus on my part.

I've been listening for many years.

He really needs to stop the political talk because he isn't well informed on politics and has a simplistic view of the world. It's tiring to hear him keep saying we need to forget everything else and just focus on getting plastics out of the ocean

Other than his political rants, I still enjoy the show. He's a master out of making entertainment from any little mundane thing or person.

I haven't made it to that show yet, and wondering if I should just skip it all together because it's going to be a kiss arse and Trump bashing session.

I’m no Stern fan but it sounds like he was just better than Dahl.

Have never understood the popularity of the guy.

Have always found him annoying and try hard.

His movie was shite, as expected.

wasn’t around in that era but were white women the driving force behind it?

Satellite radio pretty much killed his shtick. When you have no boundaries to push, the shock jock routine isn't as appealing.

This is probably true. The fun part of his radio show was the dance and tiptoe on the line of legality. The envelope push to see what he could do/say on the air was the appeal.

Say what you will about Stern he single hand idly saved Sirius radio. Xm was the dominant force in satellite radio when he signed with Sirius and before it was over they owned XM radio. He also just bought a 50 million dollar house in Florida and is worth over 600 million dollars so I would say he has it pretty well figured out.
He is super Liberal though but is a defender of gun rights. His mother has impressed on him enough to know what the Germans were able to do after taking the guns from the Jewish population.

He and Robin are pretty lefty these days. But, I check in everyday to find out what the whack pack are up to. Or Sal, Richard, and Brent and Katelyn (soft swingers). Every once in a while howard will interview someone that I want to hear from. Howard claims to be a libertarian but he's swung pretty far left these days.

He has softened up with age but that doesn’t bother me. What I don’t like is how lazy and indifferent he is to his own show. Too much BOBO type stupid shite and not enough actually talking to his staff or interesting people. Just plug in some inane whack pack bullshite and run it into the ground for half the show

Probably a little heavy on Jeff the drunk and bobo these days. I do like the beetlejuice and hank the angry drunken dwarf reruns, though.

He's basically Larry David without the self aware cringe genius now. So boring.
