I contracted the virus working on a washing machine with one of my brothers friends. He didn't know at the time that his daughter was about to tell him that she had just been tested positive for COVID. 2 days later I had a headache and got tested on the 20th of July and was positive. I suffered at home for 8 days until one morning my oxygen dipped to 81 so we called paramedics and I stayed the next 4 nights in OCHSNER. I have a strong faith in my God/Jesus and he sustained me and I came home on the 1st of August and I am still struggling with my stamina and tightness of chest and no longer have headaches, itchy skin, weird taste in my mouth, etc...... I now have the antibodies and will probably still not get the vaccine. If I had to do it over again, I would have gotten the vaccine because I was in the bracket that catches COVID. My weight has gone from 320 pounds (I'm 6'4) to 295 pounds. I highly recommend the vaccine if you have these pre existing conditions that I have. Otherwise, do your research. I'm happy to be alive and trust me when I tell you, the hospital is not the place to be right now. Thanks for letting me vent. Peace.

Glad you are recovering! Prayers for continued and lasting improvement. The lost weight, although certainly not the way to do it, is a good thing.

That said, vaccination is very much an individual choice and I respect each person's right to exercise that choice. Thank you for sharing your story!

Glad you made it through!

My Brother In Law (56yo) is in the Hospital with it right now. He doesn't have any other health issues and isn't overweight. It's kicking his arse right now.

Edit: He was not vac'd.

Not sure why someone would downvote this.

You say you would get the vaccine if you could do it over again....

If you could do it over again, would you not make poor decisions that lead to weighing 320 pounds?

Obesity is by far more dangerous than COVID is.

Look at the positives and you didn't have to join weightwatchers.

Unless you are making millions of dollars playing NFL football at this size, you need to get that down to around 220 pounds.

I'm glad you are alive though.

Praying for his recovery, especially praying that he can stay off the ventilator.

Friend of ours, in her 40s, contracted the virus before Delta. Pretty sure she's not vaccinated, but not 100%. She was in the hospital 3 months, on ventilator and some other fancy machine that breathes for you. Transferred from one hospital to a more specialized one.

She's finally home again. She is having to learn to stand and walk all over again. Horrible!

Most educated people over 35 or so don’t want to risk spending two weeks in the hospital or having to miss 10 days of work to score political points against the Libs

Great for you. It is not easy, and not fast, but you can do it.

Praying for her!

He's had covid for over a week, yesterday his oxygen levels dropped to 90 and they took him to the hospital, they think he's probably developed pneumonia.

What about me? 2 Degrees, 36, BMI is 26, so yeah I could drop a few lbs. I won't be getting the vax and have been saying so since March 2020 not that that matters.
