The sad thing is that this current company has actually been meaningfully equitable in pay and representation far more than any of its competitors for a long time.

It's also on the verge of insolvency because the SoCal HQ is so far removed from the vast majorities of customers and employees.

Let's go ahead and crowbar unqualified people into those positions, and see what's happening in 3 to 5 years. I still have faith that capitalism will eventually squash all of this nonsense.

There is going to be a ton of lawsuits in the future. While the Bakke decision outlawing outright quotas dealt with public school admissions, the Constitutional issue is pretty clear, i.e., no quotas. That's why they changed the name to "affirmative action." When "affirmative action" cases were getting thrown out of courts, they changed the name to "diversity" because Bakke briefly mentioned something about getting a diversity of opinions -- but explicitly rejected quotas.

Now, the leftist SCUM has become emboldened and has gone back to quotas and quota-like systems.

At least, John Roberts is on record as being against RACIST "diversity"/affirmative action programs.

So, unless Odumbf*ck got something REALLY GOOD on Gorsuch when he was illegally spying on all of the conservative Supreme Court justices, this "diversity" bullsh!t should get thrown out when it reaches the Supreme Court.

The problem is, we don't have capitalism, meaning in the traditional sense. The government has been funding zombie companies now for a decade+, why does anyone think Tesla exist. Its the highest capped automaker and has never made an annual profit in 20 years, and sucks in all the free-bees from federal, state and local governments... than the Fed keeps them alive with zero interest rates.

Its cronyism.

This is a large multinational. There aren't set numbers as a matter of policy, but the implication is pretty clear.

Yeah, when they get into hard set numbers generally that is a no-no. The devil is in the details, I would probably file a complaint if I were the guy at the federal and state level.

And how long after does some mediocre White basketball player sue the NBA because he couldn't cut it in a merit-based competition, where Blacks dominate, because of 'genetic privilege'?

The 'unintentional consequences' of this sort of divisive and emotion-based policy will be far reaching...and ultimately, create dysfunction in the whole society.

I used to work for a government contractor (very brief), and some of the stuff I witnessed disturbed the hell out of me. This type of hiring was full on display, even worse the government agency we interacted with was filled with minorities who carrier the biggest chips on their shoulder. I’d regularly witness in meetings those in positions of power getting upset over even the smallest slight, and making everything into a big deal. Needles to say I got the hell out before having to deal with that.

Isn't the idea of quotas an admission that those being targeted are inferior therefore they need preferential treatment?

Heck of a way to go through life, "Hey, I am not good enough for the position, but I am ______(whatever the quota is for), so give me the job."

Don't worry, they should start balancing out the NFL and NBA anytime now, maybe you could get on there, especially if minorities only get double representation

To this day I still can't wrap my head around some of the lectures in my business courses, one professor in particular would preach "hire the best and the brightest!" then turn around and lecture about mandated minority quotas...my thoughts, leave off race on your applications/resume and restrict perspective employers from seeing your name, then you can hire based on the truly black and white (no pun intended)
