Look as a teacher I get it. I hate wearing these stupid things. But it’s out of our control. You meet to talked to the Governor not the teacher with your issue. Teachers just get told to follow the rules. I’m sure it wasn’t the first time he had to be told to wear his mask right.

Teachers unions are disobeying orders to go back to work in some states, despite governor orders. That seems like a lame excuse. Complete BS.
If it's the governor's duty when parents are unhappy, and not when the teachers are unhappy, then you're a hypocrite. Teachers aren't victims.

So if a teacher was told to not teach creationism and did, you would be cool with that? Or only when you agree with the topic?

The punishment is so absurd it sounds like she wants alone time with your kid. Might want to report her to the police just in case.

The mask vs no mask has turned political as I/we knew it would.

If the teacher refused to teach "creationism" - which is ill defined and you didn't define it at all - and the teacher said "no, I won't teach that because no scientific studies have confirmed it" then I'd expect them to say the same thing about the politicized COVID lies and unscientific BS the left spouts.
COVID is now WORSE than Young Earth Creationism, if that's what you meant by "creationism".
So no, COVID isn't "science" at this point. It's liberal propaganda.

Why is it stupid to punish the kid for not following rules? I mean it is not like he has had 5 months to figure this out.
I hate having to wear a mask and I hate having to correct kids that don't wear it, but it is the rule (for now).

That’s irrelevant. The teacher has no say in school rules or subjects taught. You anger is at the wrong person. I fricking hate mask. But I have to wear it and make my kids where it because it is my job. If a parent gets onto me about it, I’m sending them up the line because I’m just enforcing the rules I was told to enforce.

As a teacher I try to encourage students and parents to read the handbook at the beginning of every year. It is a safeguard for the student as much as the teacher.
So I have a couple semi-conflicting points here but at least hear me out.
1. Whether you agree or disagree with a rule the child is still expected to follow the rules. That is something that children should be taught. See point 3 for what to do with bad rules.
2. Context matters here, was it a first infraction or was he told multiple times and the teacher finally got tired of telling him.
3. If you dislike a rule I would suggest beginning with meeting with a building level administrator to try to get rules altered and if that doesn't work start working up the food chain. If you can involve multiple parents as you move up you are often more successful.
4. If they are unwilling to waver of his punishment I will echo what others have said. They can only enforce what is in the handbook. However they will probably default to something like insubordination when they can't find it in the handbook.
5. Your potential gotcha moment will have to be "when was he trained in wearing a mask correctly and where is the documentation?"

But he had the mask on and his nose and mouth were still covered. He pulled it outward so that he could be better understood.
You assert that what he did is a “behavior” problem?

You think the teacher was following some sort of sentencing guideline?

Maybe you should sign your kids up for astrology, then. Since what's taught in schools is "irrelevant".
Maybe some "critical race theory", too, while you're at it.
Lemming.

Do you not understand metaphors? This webt way over your head. You might need to step back from the keyboard for the day.

First week of school when the school nurse came to every room and showed the kids how to properly put on a mask and then the district sent out a video of it on the child's homepage that parents use to check grades.
My rule is if it's on your head in some covering fashion I let it go, and yes my Principal has called me in over that. It is not until they purposefully start wearing it incorrectly or take it off.

"You're a peach" is a metaphor. What you posted was bull shite. Oh look, I used a metaphor.

The point that went over your head was the irony that I was pointing out that when a teacher does something you dislike, like not teach a specific subject matter you like, you blame the teacher. When they do follow the guidelines with a rule you don’t like, you Again blame the teacher. You can’t have it both ways.

Here, to use another metaphor, you're just being a jackass.
Teachers are clearly the victim here, lol. Sure they are.
