Do you always blindly disregard free thought and free will and mindlessly comply with baseless, fear mongering, politically motivated, communist directions or is it just mask mandates? I bet you’d let them cut your nuts off too if it made you feel righteous.

What kind of damn update is that? I'd be raising hell and demand an apology from the teacher.

That's rich coming from a group of people that think that taxpayers owe them a trip to the beach during COVID lockdowns, while failing to teach kids how to do basic math.
Dude learn to separate unions in large liberal areas from most teachers. They dont represent the vast majority of us. During lockdown I drove a bus for free delivering food to low income students so they would have breakfast and lunch. That was my summer break.
And as far as math, I get it. I spend more of my day teaching basic math skills that they should have already mastered than I like to think about. That said a major focus in my classes is practical application of math and technical reading. We learn science through that. No text book that we go through chapter by chapter, just primary sources and real world scenarios.
There is a ton that needs fixed in public schools, I get it. But realize that most of the problems are not with the local teacher but rather state and national level policies that are largely designed by non educators.
Look at your average politician talking about guns while clearly having no idea what it is they are saying. Realize they know just as much about educating students.
You want schools to quit graduating idiots, quit tying funding to graduation rates. We lose money if we allow the kids to fail. Guess what, administrators then push if kids are failing. That's right, unlimited free chances to fix their mess ups. I have kids that are being pulled out of my classes and placed in ALE so that they can eat, play on their phone and still somehow recover 3 years of failing in 6 short months. And yes the teachers are pissed about it.
A good solution would be to kick out trouble makers right. But give them an IEP and suddenly we can't suspend them more than X number of days and they can stay until they are 21. So now I've got little Johnny crackhead sitting in class knowing we have no power.
And as far as useless degree I'm paying for. I got paid to go to college by scholarship refunds and stipends. Walked out of college in the black. I was accepted to medical school but decided I wanted to do something else with my life. And my dumb arse decided to pick a job where I got to deal with thankless assholes and their kids.
You know what, it is still worth it. Because I have the stories of kids who came from abject poverty and now have successful lives due partly to me. Not my words, theirs. We aren't all in it for summers off and an early retirement.
And for the grammar nazis, I'm sure you'll find something in this post. I did it on my phone and I dont care enough to find all the fun autocorrects. I'm meeting students at 6:45 to help prep for a test.

Sounds like the kid lacks discipline and thinks rules don't apply to them.
I remember getting paddled at school for something as simple as an un-tucked shirt tail. It was either detention or take a paddling. Principal called my dad he gave the okay and I took my 5 wacks. This was a public school in Alabama.
I could never imagine my father excusing my lack of discipline.

Yeah man, you are kind of looking like the pansy in all this. Get your kids back.

He lacks discipline because he pulled an object blocking his speech down so he could talk? You have mental problems my dude.

Sorry, I was raised to respect my teachers & the police. To follow instructions from both.

Dumb. arse.
Sounds like the count is on a power trip. Not all orders should be followed. Especially ones as arbitrary as 'wear a mask, save lives, social distance, for the greater good'

Huh? I’m sure it’s not even her rule. Probably a school rule due to being a school district/city/state rule. And good luck teaching your kids that they can ignore the rules they don’t like in school. That’ll put them on a great path.

Telling kids they can disregard authority because they don’t agree with what they are being told is dangerous.
The whole pulled it down to talk sounds like bull shite. You can hear through a mask just fine especially in close proximity. The other kids in the class didn't have an issue.
People raise their children the way they want, but I wouldn't want my kids around kids that were raised that way.

Of course it's a school rule, quit acting like that's a ''gotcha', and she has no problem enforcing it because she agrees with it. Because the school system is broken and run by incompetence.

soooo condescending with nothing of substance regarding what this is really about. You embody everything wrong with liberalism at this end stage. You disgust me.

The kid pulled down a mask dude. He didn't disrespect anyone. The teacher was being an arse. It's overhanded punishment and control by the teacher so she could get her rocks off. Dad should serve up some disrespect to the teacher and take his son fishing. Feel sorry for your kids

For just a moment, set aside your personal disagreement with the specific school rule at issue. Imagine a DIFFERENT rule ... one with which you DO agree (e.g. no throwing erasers at other students during class).
How do you envision a school district being able to enforce that rule, if the District is precluded from inflicting any punishment for violations?
You should hear the voice in my head as I read this. I actually felt saddened for the poor little voice saying this, because you must have gotten your arse kicked constantly growing up.

frick off you judgmental prick. You know nothing about me. Or the situation. I've raised my boys to be very respectful. Very disciplined. But also not mindless sheep. I've raised them to be rational and logical. I assure you, there was no disrespect on his part. Plenty of other kids in class had issues, several were written up apparently. I found this teacher on FB, tons of "mask up Louisiana" pics and "stay home! Save lives!" Everything about her profile screams SJW. I never told my kids they can disregard authority and never would. That being said, I will absolutely teach them to question authority enforcing arbitrary, fear mongered, political rules that have no real basis in science. Especially with thier freedom and human rights are infringed upon.

Got more info, he was doing a project with two
other kids at a table, they couldn’t hear each other talk through the masks so they pulled them down. They were warned to fix them and got frustrated after a while and pulled them down again. Then the teacher wrote up all three.
I mean you can hear through the mask. If the purpose of mask is to stop the spread then teachers are going to be more anal about it working in groups. Sounds like kids were being kids and were tired of wearing it and pulled it down. The not being able to hear isn’t a legit argument. Teacher shouldn’t have wrote them up. That seems like a last resort. Should have made them work alone before writing them up.

Clearly the right move is to demand virtual classes while the teachers vacation in Tahiti on the taxpayer dime.
