This was from the MSN article on their homepage

who are these experts?

quote:
AR-15s fire high-velocity .223-caliber bullets that are accurate over long distances and cause expansive, devastating wounds to soft tissue and internal organs.
These bullets – which travel at triple the speed of a handgun round – are popular among hunters for hitting targets up to a quarter of a mile (400 meters) away.
quote:
Many Americans can simply go online and order weapons for delivery. AR-15s vary in price but can be bought for as little as $500.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) touts them for recreational target practice, hunting and home defense, although experts question their value for the latter two uses.

Oh, for fricks sake. It's always been bad, but the idiocy is at an all time high.
They make it sound like buying a gun is as easy as telling alexa to order more dishwashing detergent.

Probably the same unnamed experts who tell us a 4.5 pound trigger pull is too light.

Slow, big, bullets do more damage than small, fast, ones. Jokes on him.

Sweet Jesus these people are ignorant. Let’s trust someone who has never purchased or even held a gun to write an article about them.

That's why AR bullets are so hard to dodge

I like how they purposely use the most exaggerated unit of distance and also mysteriously omit the fact that you can order online but it has to go to an FFL who then runs a background check on you

Yea if I'm shooting something at 400 meters with my AR, shits really gone bad.

yea its not like a big brown box shows up at your door step

That's the problem. The bullet travels so fast that people don't have time to get out of the way. With all other guns, they do have time and we can save lives.

don't know about that, seems to be an awful lot of you on this board

Fact: The size of an average throwing stone is x4 bigger than most civilian purchased bullets.
Donald sonofabitch Trump and the NRA actually think arming teachers will prevent people from throwing stones.

I am a STAUNCH 2A supporter, but don't own a gun and haven't fired one in 25+ years, BUT I promise you I can get more than 20 rounds a minutes from a handgun even with reloading.
This guy makes retards stop and say, "Man, you stupid."

I am as pro gun as anyone but what am I missing here? An AR is app 3300 fps and a 9 mm semi auto is about 1200 fps. Not exactly 3 times but close. If you are 30 ft then that's negligible but it's still a closely accurate statement. Ft lbs of energy for an AR is prob 2 1/2 times that of a 9 MM. So why are y'all laughing so?
They are implying that returning fire with a pistol would be so slow that the rifle would always win. If the guy with the pistol got a clean shot at the guy with the rifle, he could shoot his rifle and overcome the pistol shot, just because the velocity of the rifle was that much greater.
I guess they think all altercations are in the form of a duel. Lol
