quote:Indeed. Just like the difference between a 9mm vs. a FN Herstal Five-seveN. The comparisons get old, especially when coming from the blatantly ignorant. If I want to hear gun comparisons from a media talking head, I'll listen to someone like Hannity who actually shoots.
Vast difference

If Agent had an AR Neo is in deep shite here

He is not completely wrong:
Typical AR round - .223 velocity is about 3200fps
Typical Handgun round* - 38 Special Velocity about 940fps
* of course there are faster handgun rounds, but it's still 2.5x faster than a 9mm.
Edit: I didn't see his riveting conclusion

Muzzle velocity isn't everything... the AK-47 fires rounds significantly slower than the AR-15, but they'll kill you just as easily.
AR-15 muzzle velocity - 3,200 ft/s
AK-47 - 2,346 ft/s
In a closed environment with obstructions an AK is more lethal. Leisure Suit Larry doesnt know what the frick he's getting into with muzzle velocity.

The people who will read it and take it seriously are likely very ignorant on the topic and they’ll assume MSNBC would only give them critical information. They’ll tell their buddy about it and they’ll get real worked up about these unbelievable bullet speeds that are used only in war zones and school hallways. That will become a foundation for their ill-informed opinion that guns are to blame for all of America’s problems.

i could be wrong, but those aren't the guns i see people buying
It isn't the most popular, but plenty of people have a 38 snubby. Still, the guy is an idiot if he thinks bullet velocity has much to do with the situation. The fast/accurate shooter wins every time.

The Five-seven pistol and its 5.7×28mm ammunition were developed by FN Herstal in response to NATO requests for a replacement for the 9×19mm Parabellum cartridge and associated pistols and submachine guns.
Cartridge FN 5.7×28mm[8]
Action Delayed blowback[8]
Rate of fire Semi-automatic[8]
Muzzle velocity
762 m/s (2,500 ft/s) (SS198)[10]
625 m/s (2,050 ft/s) (SS195)[10]
520 m/s (1,700 ft/s) (SS197)[10]
Excuse me MSNBC, excuse me...

Muzzle velocity of 00 Buckshot is ~1300 fps.
Is that less lethal than .223 inside 15-20 yards?
