According to a UVA poll, 80% of Americans view the opposition party as constituting a clear and present danger to the United States.

Do you have any idea how dangerous that is? “Clear and Present Danger” is a threshold by which a president can take unilateral action against a group.

Historically it would be used to describe a jihadist group or a drug cartel before a president launches a cruise missile attack against them. Here people are viewing their neighbors in that light.

The DOJ just labeled nationalist groups as the biggest threat to American security.
NYT - White Nationalists Top Domestic Threat

See where this is headed yet?

On top of that, support for secession is at 41% amongst Biden voters and 52% for Trump voters.

This isn’t some fringe thing, that’s almost a majority nationally and the averages are much higher in places like the south, TX and CA.

Absolutely my friends. Price of entry into the new Republic of Texas is simply unlimited supply of boudin and crawfish etouffee. :)

Have you met the average Louisiana citizen? Referendum's in this state are a disaster in the limited areas where we have them (constitutional amendments and the like).

Unfiltered democracy is a disaster in stupid societies.

If Texas secedes, I would be very tempted to move to Texas.

Be careful. The 44-48% of the state that votes straight ticket blue is also going to be there. Texas will not magically become 80% red by trying to leave the union.

There was a time when I thought this was a loser proposition. I would have voted against it.

Now I would absolutely vote in favor of it. Not only me, but most people I know are in favor of it.

I have a hard time seeing why staying part of the US is a major advantage in any way, shape, or form.

Actually, Texas NOT annexing Louisiana would be more like the US saying "no thanks" to the Louisiana purchase.

Good luck to Freeport when all that traffic goes to South Louisiana instead.

Those patriots that attended the
GOP Texas convention think that
the earth is flat and was formed 5000 years ago
for Adam and eve.

Then there was the 800 Trump Patriots that
believed Q and went to Dealy Plaza to welcome
JFK jr back last November

A real think tank

Texas secession, as much as I'd like to see it, would never be allowed to stand. The FedGov would kill every last one of us before allowing that domino effect. If Texas secession went unchallenged, the U.S. would lose the entire South, the Midwest, and the West aside from CA, OR, and WA. No way that's allowed to happen.

If leave NO behind they might consider it. Bring NO? They’ll leave your arse far behind.
