I'm with you on everything but this...my Money died in 2017 with leukemia. I'd give my right arm to have her on the phone...even if she was pushing the non-sense.

That is almost as dumb as this allegedly from someone who works for Homeland Security:
quote:

Family,

I just got off a call with the nation's top emergency officials and health professionals. They advised I relay some critical information relating to COVID-19 to my friends and family. This is not intended to scare or belabor what you have heard in the news, but instead to describe the seriousness and spur real action needed by everybody in this country.

It is absolutely critical that everybody self-isolate and practice social distancing. Even if you feel fine - you may be inadvertently getting somebody with a pre-existing condition or an older age sick and this provides further strain on an already weakened healthcare system. This means no restaurants, bars, going to a friends house, or even going into the office unless it is an absolute emergency or you are a healthcare professional or emergency worker. Grocery stores will remain open and it is ok to leave to go to the store but practice social distancing at the store and do not go to the store if you are ill. For those that have not been authorized telework by their employers, please feel free to have them call me and I will explain the situation at hand.

The federal damage assessments are astonishing IF we do not heed the warning and collectively as a whole, follow guidance on social distancing. It will take every person in the nation to reverse our current course - so please tell your friends and other family.

Lastly, and most importantly, have a plan if somebody gets sick (who will take care of this person, what protocols will you follow, how do I get food if everyone in my house is sick, etc). We are certainly hoping for the best case scenarios to play out, but hope is not a plan.

During these difficult times, let's all look out for one another both as a family and as a society. Together we will pull through and am here to talk if anyone feel nervous or scared. I sincerely hope that we can look back on this and make fun of the crazy brother-in-law/son-in-law who said the sky was falling - but I'd rather that happen than the alternative.

These people are turning into batshit crazy people.

The rumor 20 years ago is that SW Florida would be under water by next weekend. So there’s that.

Dear dumb 23 year old that thinks all live in unicorn land, or psyop writer,

Some people have jobs that they can't telework.

My brother keeps texting me if I don't answer his calls and he wants to know where I am. We're in different states. Doesn't want me going out, refuses to go out himself. Very controlling. A few times earlier in the week I'd answer the phone pretending like I was asleep. Even told our parents it's good to be paranoid. That's just really sick to say.

Sounds like a strange family dynamic

Now would be an excellent time for everyone to watch the "Terrorist Attack" episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I heard that there’s one grocery store that you have to sign a waiver to enter. And if you make it all the way through you get your stuff for free.

Older people are susceptible to this bull crap. For boomers, they traditionally aren’t used to questioning the news or verifying sources.

Pretty much the most gullible people on earth.

I fear my generation as millennials will be even worse though when it comes to news that confirms their biases.
