The Establishment GOP accomplished their goal. They tarnished and/or harmed what was the most likely adopter of the MAGA base in 2028, Ron. Now that they feel Ron is no longer a threat they are just naturally coalescing around politicians that they feel comfortable with.
This is the problem with Ron cozying up to the establishment and not building an organic populous base which he was in the process of doing. The establishment is fickle and will abandon your arse at the drop of a hat. At least his net worth has nicely increased in this endeavor. That makes Jill happy.

I'm certainly not.

Dude, Ron had $200 million in the bank before entering this race. You think that came from individual MAGA donors? (Well about $80 million did during his gov. run...the rest from the likes of Murdoch, the Bushes and Ken Griffin).
