In America? when was this?

The Smiths and later Moz would sell out shows with $$$ tickets within minutes.

A poet laureate and the last of the famous international playboys.

Aging myself here, but one of the funnest nights (week) of my life started on a Friday night, tripping balls, listening to the latest Smiths album and hearing Meat Is Murder for the first time. Good times…

I’m almost embarrassed to admit how big an influence the Smiths were for me.

I remember one bored teenage summer when my younger siblings were driving me nuts, I played every Smiths album over and over all day long and fell asleep to them.
Is it really so strange?

I must admit tho it might not fit this particular narrative, the most impressionable concert for me was seeing the Moody Blues.

The Smith's "How Soon Is Now" is a classic...the rest...meh.

I actually think how soon is now is meh.

Probably just because over played by the ghey.

Johnny Marr was the musical genius of the band. Morrissey’s lyrics are timeless though and allow/prompt you to weave your own darkly humorous British yarns. Eta: bassist Andy Rourke is underrated. RIP - died of pancreatic cancer at 59 a couple years ago.

Nope. It’s your teams fault. Teams being plural isn’t a typo.

To clarify, I was referring to those threatening, not Morrissey himself.

He still is all of those things. He hasn’t changed. The left has just gone off the rails that much.

I need to find it, but I saw an interview he gave recently where he discussed “diversity.” He was spot on.

Morrisey is Jk Rowling for immigration

He’s basically a lib and he puts out a product that libs love but at some point he probably got mugged or something and he hates immigration so now libs pretend to hate him

M orrissey has issues with Britain being overrun by “migrants” wielding machetes and Chinese eating dogs (he’s vegan) so he’s now public enemy number 1.

I have issues with China eating dogs and I’m not even a vegan.

Over many years and everyone is to blame. I feel like in the 90s people were predicting exactly where we pretty much are as a society now. It’s only going to get worse, I’m afraid.

It started with political correctness movement. The left just got more intolerant every year. Things like speech is equal to violence. Now everyone I don’t like is a Nazi. Many tried to tell the left to calm down on the rhetoric and now we are here.

Sounds like something a liberal or conservative would say so my point stands, and I’m being generous because the Kirk shooter was not a liberal.

This isn’t a right or left issue. Neither side is innocent here.
