They could EASILY simplify the tax code and probably not even need anyone. What a stupid complicated system we have.

Unfortunately I think the AI will be able to do audits on a much bigger scale and much faster than a human workforce can anyway.

I had to paper file my 2023 return because turbo tax wouldn’t efile through the Helene disaster extension. That was May 15. They say they haven’t received my return even though I have certified mail proof of receipt and then I sent it again via FedEx and have that proof of receipt.

I wouldn’t care except that they owe me money. I guess I’m hosed now.

Tax collectors are right there with lawyers and used care salesmen. It’s hard to feel sorry for them especially when they target conservatives.

Should we rejoice if the federal government offered every single US resident a $150k salaried job from the government? That would be generous and give everyone income?
